“Through It All”

Well, I tried to upload Jason Dixon’s song, ” Through It All” with no success, but stress. Goodness! So, let me  just tell you about it and check it out on U-tube. I heard it on K-Love on the home from work.

It is about our story and God being there–through it all☺

My story like yours, perhaps, is quite convoluted. Those stressors are why I got into reflexology. The song would be a great song for a funeral. I pray mine is way into the future, but after the death of a dear friend this year, I have pondered such things. Her funeral was such a sharing of her faith, joy and challenges of a long illness.

Breathe and celebrate this day with me.

Morning With the Moon

I awoke very early today, got up and we (the cats) headed to the porch. It was brighter than usual, so I followed the light around the corner of the porch–a full moon! Awesome! It took my breath away and  I followed with a deep breath. Beautiful way to start my pre-dawn day!

Death of My MAC

Well, I think my old Mac died. It was great one. Did I panic? Nope, I called  my webmaster (aka my son, Steve). He sent me the login info and here I am via my tablet. Cool. He is going to check into another computer. What a blessing he is!!

Rocking Meditation

Rocking chairs have always been a part of my life. As a child, I had the traditional little red rocking chair. Next, I rocked my son sometimes to sleep. Now, I have a rocking chair on the porch, but my favorite is in my house–my Papa’s rocker. I watched a lot of Saturday night westerns sitting in his lap.

(I also believe rocking counts as a sort of ab crunches.)

What does this have to do with meditation? Prayer is talking to God and hopefully listening as well. Meditation is listening to God with your mouth shut and your mind focused. Rocking just kind of puts you there. Rock on!

First Blessings of the Day

I slept crappy, so at 4:30, I just got up. I took my Sweet Wheat, fixed my coffee, and headed to the porch with cats in tow. Then, I saw it…a shooting star. Wow! It has been a long time since I have seen one of those.

Later, I heard the hoot of a Great Barn owl.  We have a history and so good to know it is back. Yep, the first blessings of the day.

Aha!

I awoke way early and decided to get up. I got my coffee and with my three rescue cats (still looking for homes) headed out to the porch. I noticed immediately that the cats seemed more comfortable in the dark–peaceful and playful.

As I pondered this, I realized they are nocturnal and that is there time to shine. That makes sense. What is your time to shine? Early, early morning might be my best time, too. Time will tell.

Merry Christmas!

It is almost Christmas and I hope you are ready. I mean really ready to relax and enjoy the silence of at least a part of a part of the day in reflection and thankfulness. It helps reduce stress and gives us a heart at peace.

Jesus Has a (slightly warped) Sense of Humor

The devotional reading  this morning of “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young was about the presence of Jesus in our daily place. There is a song by that title  which I sang with  gusto.  About that time the humor began. I started to the bathroom to be met by two of three kittens playing with great wads of toilet paper (They have been stalking this for weeks now.) Man, that stuff is not cheap anymore. Later I heard a crash and a sound of rushing water. They had been on the table, a big no-no, and turned over a glass of  water that cascaded everywhere on the wooden table. Last, but not least so far, Tigger was on top of my reading lamp fascinated by the glowing bulb. Jesus, enough, I get it. I keep singing and laughing. Oh, yeah, Jesus has a sense of humor.

An Outing

Today I went on an outing, literally. I took the kittens outside after several weeks indoors because of the weather. It is important that they remember fresh air and pouncing on leaves. I needed the fresh air at least. I swept some of the leaves off the porch.

I am thankful for my time outside. It is relaxing and grounding for me. For what are you thankful?
