House and Office Calls

Since going full-time with reflexology, I have more time for office and home calls. I enjoy relaxing someone in their own space. They can kick back and not have to worry about driving home if they get so relaxed they fall asleep. I  love it plus sometimes I get to meet their family.

Some folks need to get away to the quiet of the office at Sunflower Health. There I have the aroma therapy machine and the sounds of music and water.

Wherever you need to relax, we can work it out. Reflexology  is flexible. All I need are your feet.

Low Libido–Just Saying

This is from Deborah Flanagan, the reflexologist who was on Dr. Oz.

This technique is called ” the Wrist Twist” and created by Lynne Booth, a reflexologist from the U.K.

The reflexes for the prostate and testes or the uterus and ovaries are on the sides of wrist.

Grasp your wrist with your thumb and forefinger forming a circle.

Twist the opposite hand.

Clients often report feeling invigorated and energized immediately.

Twist your wrist 20 times or so and then do the opposite wrist, 2 or 3 times a day

Reflexology Can Reduce Stress

from “The Everything Reflexology Book ” by Valerie Voner

Dr. Koop, the former U.S. Surgeon General, advocated the use of relaxation techniques to reduce stress, keeping the immune system healthy. Reflexology can help reduce  stress. This is a relaxation technique that  produces profound results. Imagine sitting back in a comfortable lounge chair with your feet up as someone applies alternating pressure on your feet. Aaah! Before long you are snoring or at least so relaxed you cannot keep your eyes open. Now that is stress reduced!

I Am Loved

I recently attended a Christian retreat in Telluride, Colorado. It was beyond adjectives that come to mind. It was so healing for body and soul. Surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and the love of new friends, I blossomed and grew. The hikes were a challenge but the waterfalls were so worth the climb. The lessons on relationships were stimulating and thought provoking. I could not help but feel loved. How my heart rested in that. God really  loves me…and He loves you.

I hope you have a getaway planned this summer. Your heart deserves  it. A reflexology session is like a mini-vacation. You will receive thirty minutes of undivided attention and touch therapy that will support your healing.

Use Your Time Wisely

It is snowy here and so an adventure cancelled. I have chosen not to pout, but to rest, work and hang out without pressure. I took days off to travel, but will instead travel within and be fine. I may even do my own feet!

Relaxation Response And Adrenal Fatigue

From Adrenal Fatigue by James L. Wilson:

In the late 1960’s a Harvard cardiologist named Herbert Benson M.D. began a series of  investigating the physiological changes that take place in meditators while they are meditating. He called these changes collectively the relaxation response. From these studies he discovered that no matter how the relaxation response is elicited, the resultant internal changes are quite consistent. The body shifts from sympathetic  to parasympathetic nervous system dominance; breathing, heart rate, and oxygen consumption slow down; muscles relax; the brain predominately generates the slower alpha waves  that produces the relaxation response, and blood pressure may drop. These changes occur within a few minutes of beginning an activity that produces the relaxation response, whereas they happen very gradually over hours while sleeping and often not at all  while engaging in a leisure activity.

Of particular relevance to adrenal fatigue recovery is that during the relaxation response, stimulation of     adrenal glands diminishes so they can rest, and, in addition, all tissues  in your body become less  sensitive to stress hormones secreted by your adrenal glands. This means that every part of your body has  a  chance to return to normal and recuperate instead of being constantly on red alert. Methods for producing the relaxation response are described in detail n many widely available books and courses.

REFLEXOLOGY is such a relaxation technique. It is a great  way to relax.  Call today to get started.  731-627-0053

Reflexology Quote Of The Day

from;

reflexology–health at your fingertips by Barbara and Kevin Kunz

Image stepping on a tack. In response to the challenge to the sole of the foot, the reflex action occurs throughout the  body–muscular action withdraws the foot from the tack and the body experiences an adrenaline surge as well as changes in balance and internal organ function. Reflexology works on the same principle–it all happens reflexively throughout the nervous system.

Got it? Relax With Reflexology

Coping With Morning Excursions

Yesterday morning got me out of my comfort zone early. First, the cats were out roaming when I heard a strange sound. It was not an animal sound, but weird. Putting coffee cup aside, I went to the side of the porch to investigate. There I saw the black panther (I call him) back arched, ready to pounce on Tigger.

My Mother Bear instincts kicked in and I shooed him away and rebuked him in Jesus’ name and other words I’d rather not share in the same sentence. He ran, but stopped to see if I would pursue him. I did and sure hoped he would not run toward me. Thankfully, he moved on.

I settled back into the rocker and waited for my pulse to return to normal. Re-group time. I moved  into my devo time and then watched the cats come running to be fed.  I opened the door gasping, as Charcoal, the little female, ran in with something in her mouth.  I wrestled it from her to reveal a (thankfully) dead little field mouse. She growled proudly at her brothers, showing what the huntress she was. I patted her with words of praise and future instructions for such treasures. I was pooped and it was only seven o’clock.

Ok, what lessons could I learn from this deviant day? First, there is a time to stand your ground. There have been  a few times in my life when I shook after confrontations were complete.

Secondly, we should not judge another’s gifts of bravery. I know God does not when I bring him a field mouse-type present. He says, “Well done, Little Lamb.”
